1. How to run the drill Start with three pitchers - one on the rubber, one just to the first base side, and one to the third base side. All infielders are at their positions and the outfielders can be used as runners. The pitcher on the first base side of the mound works on either pickoffs to first or covering first base on a ball hit to the right side. If working on covering first, he should throw a ball to the plate and a fungo hitter hits a ball to a first basemen who flips to the pitcher covering first. The pitcher on the mound works on daylight pickoffs at second alternating with the shortstop and second baseman. He can also work on turning a double play on a comebacker. The pitcher on the third base side of the mound works on fielding bunts and communicating with the third basemen on balls slowly hit or bunted to the third base side. He can also work on first movement picks to third base. 2. Equipment needed Balls, Bases 3. Number of players Full team 4.
