SEND PLAYERS OUT FOR HAND TOSSED BALLS LIKE A WIDE REC. THIS HELPS TO GET FIELDERS RUNNING CORRECTLY ON THEIR ROUTE TO FLY BALLS. OFTEN YOUNGER PLAYERS EXPERIENCE A FLY BALL “BOUNCING” WHEN THEY LOOK UP AT A BALL WHILE RUNNING. RUNNING ON THE HEELS OF THEIR FEET CAUSES THIS. THIS DRILL WILL HELP YOU TEACH YOUR OUTFIELD TO RUN ON THE BALLS OF THEIR FEET AND “GLIDE LIKE A DEER”. A GRACEFUL TECHNIQUE IS NOT FOR SHOW. IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE AS TO HOW THE BALL APPEARS AGAINST THE SKY.
