Hesitation

By: Tommy

Form three to four lines on the basline at one end of the basketball court.

The first three or four players start their dribble and proceed dribbling fast down court until the coach blows the whistle. They then stop running while maintaining a live dribble, when the coach blows the whistle again, they proceed downcourt dribbling fast. This goes on untill they reach the other end.

Coach, blow your whistle and make the players stop running[and keep dribbling] 3 or 4 times while they are going downcourt.

A variation of this is to have the players dribble right handed downcourt and left handed back.

When the first group passes the middle line the second group starts,or can wait until first group finishes.

After the first group reaches the baseline it waits until the second group has arrived before starting again to go the other way, if you use two groups..

The coach can use whistle to let that the players know when to start moving again after dribbling on the spot, this keeps the drill in order.
