Protect The Cone

By: Jeff Haefner

1. Have five players form a circle with one additional
player standing in the middle. A cone is placed in the
middle of the circle with the single player.

2. Give the group one ball and have them try to knock
down the cone by using both communication and
cooperation. The players are to pass the ball to one
another using bounce and chest passes.

3. The person in the middle is to try to protect the cone
from being knocked over.

4. Once a player knocks the cone down, that player must
enter the middle and now become the cone protector.

Teaching Tips:

Stress to players that they must talk to each other when passing the ball and use correct form.

Variations:

• This drill can be varied by changing the number of players both inside and outside of the circle.
